naturopathy bristolNaturopathy

Naturopathy offers a wealth of helpful approaches to a healthier diet and lifestyle. Its dietary recommendations are now standard for those hoping to reduce the risk of cancer, heart disease and obesity. Its non-invasive physical therapy techniques also offer significant relief from a variety of muscle and joint complaints.

Why is Naturopathy effective for maintaining optimum health and performance?

Naturopathy employs a multifaceted approach to the prevention and treatment of disease and biomechanical problems, including nutritional therapy, therapeutic massage, and the use of homeopathic and herbal remedies as appropriate.  Naturopaths seek the root cause of health problems and suggest natural, non-invasive therapies to promote healing.

Many people are surprised to discover that even the smallest changes can drastically improve their health and sense of wellbeing.  For example, a food sensitivity test will identify foods which may be impairing your functioning at present. Here, a short elimination period and a gradual reintroduction of these foods can deliver substantial improvements in energy, mood, and the ability to recover more quickly from injury or illness.  Other types of tests, such as urine or stool tests may also be recommended in collaboration with your GP.

Did you know?

There is an important difference between food intolerances and food allergies.  Both are classed as food sensitivities, however a food allergy involves the immune system and can be life threatening, whereas a food intolerance produces less severe symptoms and a more localised reaction, such as skin irritation, swelling or digestive upset.  So, if you are intolerant to a particular food at the moment, you should be able to successfully reintroduce it within 12 weeks.

Why is Naturopathy good for weight management?

Naturopathy will help you to achieve your ideal weight and body composition by encouraging and empowering you to make positive and realistic changes to your diet and lifestyle.
Your Naturopath will explain why specific foods, lifestyle and eating practices are important for enhancing metabolism and general health so that you can lose weight safely and maintain your lovely new shape in the longer term - knowledge is power!
An initial one hour consultation is recommended with monthly 1/2 hour follow-ups, depending on the level of support you require.
